Kristin Davis, Jennifer Aniston, Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks speak about hair loss, alopecia, women's alopecia

Whenever you see celebrities on the big screen, whether in a movie, television show, or concert, you might wonder how they look so perfect doing their jobs all the time. All the women we see on TV are always in tip-top shape, smiling and being effortlessly beautiful while working hard.

Well, the truth is they are far from perfect, and they experience hardships from stress and age just as any normal human being would. Makeup, hairpieces, and special effects have come a long way over the years, reassuring that these stars look stunning in their performance.

However, many brave female celebrities have opened up about their hair-thinning journey during challenging times of their career, taking one for the team to show their fans that they are not alone in this. Some suffer from stress, and some can't keep up with the constant demand of the limelight while maintaining their personal life.

Please keep reading to find yourself both shocked and inspired by female celebrities you would never have thought even lost a single strand of hair on their head!

Kristin Davis

Kristin Davis, actress speaks about hair loss

You might know the stunning Kristen Davis for her role as Charlotte in Sex and the City. Little did you know that while shooting the show's final season, she began noticing a significant difference in the feel of her hair. She was worried about her daughter and was so busy with the show that one day she went to get ready for the day and said to herself, "Where is all of my hair?"

She noticed that particular day her hair just wasn't what it used to be. Kristin decided to try Volaire hair volumizing products after her stylist recommended it. She went on to become an ambassador later down the road.

"It was always very difficult hair, which no one believes when I tell them," she told the fashion website WWD. "It's always been not quite that easy, but because I had a lot of hair, the professionals could help make me look nice. It's not like I woke up and had Charlotte's hair."

Jennifer Aniston

Next up on the list is a shocker for most reading this. The Hollywood actress, known for her role as Rachel in the hit show Friends, has also experienced the hardships of hair thinning.

During an interview with MSNBC, she explained her hair had been severely damaged and thin from the constant use of hair extensions throughout her career. Eventually, Jennifer's hair got to the point of no repair at the age of 42, so she cut her hair short. She explained that her hair no longer looked real without cutting it short because the extensions damaged it. She began to follow a healthy hair routine which has helped her hair look significantly better.

Tyra Banks

Tyra Banks stress induced alopecia, women's hair loss, stress alopecia, female pattern baldness

The well-known and loved supermodel and pop culture icon Tyra Banks spoke up in an interview with The Wall Street Journal about how much weight her career has put on her head of hair. She mainly attributes this condition to happening while she was under pressure to develop a book over the course of 5 years.

"How can I say this? I got some alopecia from all the stress," she admitted.

Alopecia Areata is a condition that can develop in both men and women from long-term chronic stress. The immune system attacks the hair follicles, causing your body to halt the growth of any more hair. This results in patchy spots on the head. With a healthier diet and treatments, your hair can overcome this condition.

Naomi Campbell

This star rose to the spotlight at the young age of 15, becoming a supermodel overnight and even being featured in French and American Vogue magazines. Over the years of her career, she wore hair extensions excessively, just as Jennifer Aniston had done. She admitted to ES Magazine that the years of this stress on her hair has left her with "various bald patches."

She claims that it is also due to adopting tight buns and ponytail hairstyles, resulting in constant pulling and stress on the scalp. This condition is called Traction Alopecia, which is very common among models and dancers, receiving the nickname "ballerina baldness."

"My hair did grow back because I lost all the extensions and took better care of it," she said with relief, "thank God."

Jesy Nelson

At the age of 13, Little Mix member Jesy Nelson began to have sudden hair loss, believe it or not.

"When I turned that age, my hair kind of just started falling out," she explained in an interview with Fabulous magazine.

She went on to explain that she is a victim of Alopecia Areata as well, caused by the constant bullying she endured because of how differently she dressed.

"I never wanted to fit in with everyone else," Nelson said.

Alopecia can develop in anyone who is consistently under pressure or stress. It's essential to take time to relax and recuperate from time to time.

Neve Campbell

The famous Scream actress Neve Campbell is yet another victim who has suffered from severe Alopecia. During an interview with the Daily Mail, she explained that she was "terribly overworked and going through a divorce."

She went into more detail and shared that along with all of these other burdens, she had a stalker sending threatening mail to her during this horrible part of her life. All of these instances combined seemed to have taken a toll on the health of her hair.

"I was so distressed by it all that my hair started falling out. Life hasn't always been a bowl of cherries."

Luckily, she seems to be doing better and happier in life as of today.

A Common Problem

Little known to most, Alopecia of both kinds is overwhelmingly common in Hollywood. Whether it's being under the constant eye of the paparazzi or just overworking themselves in the industry, all of these wonderful female stars have experienced the hair thinning everyone is talking about.
